Deborah Worsfold
Following upon a career as an interior designer, in 1994 Deborah took up the brush herself studying the fine arts at Fanshawe College, London, Ontario. For a number of years Deborah represented other artists in her private galleries. By 2000 she opted to paint full time.
Deborah continues to build a rich foundation in art history and colour theory. Through extensive experimentation she has found her own style. Her careful use of the white negative space, and the under drawing, to build form and contour define her consistent approach across series that vary in subject, from landscape to still life.
Deborah’s partiality for the work of David Milne, Milton Avery, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard and David Hockney influences her pictorial sensibility.
